Roadside Assistance vs. Towing: Which One Do You Need?
Calling the wrong one costs you an hour and a service fee. The dividing line is simple: can the car be made drivable where it sits?
Roadside assistance solves it on the spot
Dead battery, keys locked inside, flat tire with a usable spare, empty tank, a battery that needs replacing. These are all fixed where the vehicle is parked, and you drive away afterward. That is what we do.
Towing moves a vehicle that can't be fixed roadside
Flat with no spare. Overheating, a blown head gasket, transmission failure. Collision damage. Anything that means the car cannot safely move under its own power after service. That needs a tow operator, and we do not tow, winch or do heavy-duty recovery.
When you're not sure
Call and describe what happened. If it is a tow job we will tell you on the phone rather than dispatch a truck that cannot help you. An honest "we're not the right call" takes thirty seconds and saves you a fee.
